These sporting opportunities enhance self-discipline, courage and physical fitness; they provide vital recuperation and focus beyond the operational commitments of service personnel. Historically a significant number of servicemen and women have represented Great Britain in winter sports disciplines, a trend which continued in Sochi 2014. The sports supported include the following at annual Inter-Services events: Ski, Snowboard and Telemark Competitions, held in France. Cresta Run held in St Moritz, Switzerland. Ice Sports Competition: Bobsleigh, Skeleton Bobsleigh and Luge, held in Winterberg, Germany. Nordic Competition, including Biathlon, held in Ruhpolding, Germany.
