Today, Athletes took to the slopes to represent their service in the Inter-Service Snow Sports Championship (ISSSC) 2016 held in Meribel, France. Heavy snow fall fell upon the Stade downhill course today. Despite the poor conditions, the KBR Alpine Super Combined Slalom delivered lots of thrills and spills with each service putting on a show for an enthusiastic crowd. This event marks the 10th anniversary of the ISSSC at which 144 athletes from the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force compete across 3 disciplines representing their respective service. The Combined Service Winter Sports Association (CSWSA) has funded this event with the help of a variety of sponsors. The Association exists to promote excellence in winter sports within Her Magesty's Armed Forces, through the provision of annual all ranks competitions organised in a manner which affords prestige to those competing and enables subsequent entry into national and international competitions for the most talented.
