Inter-Service Ice Sports Championships

Wing Commander Heather Ratnage-Black

The 2019 Inter Service Ice Championships moved as part of their cycle to the spectacular venue of Konigssee, Germany, for 2019.  A demanding track saw a step up in challenge for many of our athletes and they rose to the challenge and more.  Once again there were a strong contingent across all Services and ice disciplines of seasoned international competitors, novices from this season and everyone in between.

Results for skeleton bobsleigh saw the RAF men’s team retaining their title for the eleventh consecutive year with the Army being victorious for the women’s team.

Moving to the 2019/20 season we remain in Konigssee for a second year.   A difficult track to master that will challenge the athletes of all three disciplines and make for an exciting championships.  With a new crop of Inter Service athletes is will demand their focus throughout and the more senior competitors will have the opportunity to build on last year’s experiences. The Events team for the Championships look forward to welcoming our sponsors and senior military.
