International and British Ladies podium positions: 1st, Royal Air Force: Sgn Ldr Caitlin Wroe 2nd, Royal Navy: Lt Holly Henderson 3rd, Army: Capt Jen Kehoe   International and British Mens podium positions: 1st, Royal Navy: Lt Chris Sharrott 2nd, Army: WO2 Dougie MacPherson 3rd, Army: Capt Duncan White This year (2016) marks the 10th anniversary of the Inter Services Snow Sports Championships held in Meribel, France. Personnel from the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force (RAF) compete in various disciplines throughout the week. The Combined Services Winter Sports Association (CSWSA) can trace its roots to pre-war competitions held by some of the pioneers of skiing and bobsledding and celebrates its 65th anniversary in 2016.  The Association exists to promote excellence in winter sports within Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, through the provision of annual all ranks competitions organised in a manner which affords prestige to those competing and enables subsequent entry into national and international competitions for the most talented.  These sporting opportunities enhance self-discipline, courage and physical fitness; they provide vital recuperation and focus beyond the operational commitments of service personnel.  Historically a significant number of servicemen and women have represented Great Britain in winter sports disciplines, a trend which continued in Sochi 2014.  The sports supported include the following at annual Inter-Services events: Ski, Snowboard and Telemark Competitions, held in France. Cresta Run held in St Moritz, Switzerland. Ice Sports Competition: Bobsleigh, Skeleton Bobsleigh and Luge, held in Winterberg, Germany. Nordic Competition, including Biathlon, held in Ruhpolding, Germany.
