Today, Athletes took to the slopes to represent their service in the Inter-Service Snow Sports Championship (ISSSC) 2016 held in Meribel, France. With clear skies and a solid base of snow, BFBS Snowboard Cross took place at Moon Park. The racing saw it's fair share of action but the final verdict was Army on top for both males and females. This event marks the 10th anniversary of the ISSSC at which 144 athletes from the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force compete across 3 disciplines representing their respective service. The Combined Service Winter Sports Association (CSWSA) has funded this event with the help of a variety of sponsors. The Association exists to promote excellence in winter sports within Her Magesty's Armed Forces, through the provision of annual all ranks competitions organised in a manner which affords prestige to those competing and enables subsequent entry into national and international competitions for the most talented. Today saw action from Boarder Cross practice, athletes get a chance to scope out the track and try to perfect their jumps and turns before finals the day after.
