Welcome To ISSSC 26

I’m honoured to welcome you to the Inter Service Snow Sports Championships 2026, a landmark year for Armed Forces winter sport. This season marks the 75th anniversary of the United Kingdom Armed Forces Winter Sports Association and we are priveliged to have been hosted by Meribel for a 20th consecutive year which is a cause for celebration! Our strong relationship with Méribel Tourism and the superb ESF have been central to the success and reputation of the Championships. Their continued commitment to the ISSSC provides a world-class environment in which Service athletes can train, compete and excel.

The ISSSC is however, far more than sport alone. Our athletes develop and test their courage, skill and resilience under pressure, attributes that translate directly into warfighting readiness and operational effectiveness. The Championships offer a level of competition that would be unattainable for most outside the Armed Forces, while also playing a vital role in fitness, mindset and retention across all three Services. None of this would be possible without the support of our sponsors, hill teams, ESF and Méribel Tourism, to whom I offer my sincere thanks.
